Privacy Policy

Effective 2026

1. About this policy

This privacy policy explains how the Centre of Analytical Psychology Singapore Ltd. (“CAPS”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal data when you use this website, register for courses or supervision, or apply for membership. We are committed to complying with the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

We may update this policy from time to time; the latest version will always be published on this page with its effective date.

2. What we collect

Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash). If you apply for membership: your phone number, mailing address (used for invoices and receipts), and membership details.

Membership eligibility documents: for Developing Group, Router Programme, and Jungian Analyst applications, the transcripts, certificates, or licences you upload. These are stored in private, access-controlled storage and are never publicly accessible.

Orders and registrations: the courses and supervision sessions you register for, amounts paid, and payment status. Card and PayNow payment details are processed by our payment provider, Stripe — your full card number never touches our servers.

Messages and subscriptions: contact-form messages and your newsletter subscription (with the date of consent).

Records of our correspondence: for each transactional email we send you (receipts, joining instructions, renewal reminders) we keep the recipient address, the type of message, and the time it was sent — so we can confirm what was sent and when.

Membership history: an audit trail of your membership events — application, activation, renewal, lapse, and the issue or retirement of your membership number — including which administrator made each decision.

Security signals: when you use our forms we run Cloudflare Turnstile, a bot-protection check that analyses technical signals such as your IP address and browser characteristics to distinguish people from automated abuse. It does not track you across other websites.

3. How we use your data

To operate your account and registrations: confirming places, sending receipts, joining instructions (such as Zoom links), and schedule changes.

To administer membership: verifying eligibility, processing membership payments (by card or PayNow via Stripe), issuing receipts, and sending renewal reminders.

To respond to your enquiries, and — only if you have subscribed — to send our newsletter. Every newsletter includes a way to unsubscribe.

We do not use your data for automated decision-making, profiling, or advertising.

4. Disclosure to third parties

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to run this site: Stripe (payment processing), Cloudflare (hosting and storage), and our transactional email provider — each only receives what it needs for its function.

We may disclose personal data where required by law or by an order of court.

International transfers: our hosting (Cloudflare) and payment (Stripe) providers operate global networks, so your data may be processed outside Singapore. In accordance with the PDPA's Transfer Limitation Obligation, we use providers contractually bound to standards of protection comparable to the PDPA.

5. Storage, security, and retention

Data is stored with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Membership documents are kept in a private bucket accessible only to authorised CAPS administrators.

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Our standard periods are: financial and transaction records — 5 years, as required for Singapore tax and accounting purposes; membership eligibility documents — deleted 12 months after your membership ends, or 6 months after an application is declined; membership history and membership numbers — kept for as long as we hold your membership record, since a membership number is never re-issued; contact-form messages — 24 months; records of emails sent to you — 24 months; newsletter subscriptions — until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days. You may request earlier deletion (see section 7).

6. Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Your cart is stored locally in your own browser.

7. Your rights

Under the PDPA you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate data, or withdraw consent to specific uses (such as the newsletter). Withdrawal of consent essential to a service — for example, your email address for registration confirmations — may mean we cannot continue providing that service.

To exercise any of these rights, or to raise a concern about how we handle your data, contact our Data Protection Officer, Sherry (DPO), at info@capssea.com. We will respond within a reasonable time, and in any case within the timelines required by the PDPA. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer the matter to the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore.
